Local business schema, written for you.

Fill in your business details and copy the JSON-LD code. It tells Google, Bing and the AI assistants that read them exactly who you are, where you are and when you're open.

Still needed: business name and street address and city. Google requires both.

Paste it into the <head> of your homepage, or in your site builder’s custom code box. Then test it:

Before you paste

Four mistakes to avoid.

  1. 01

    Hours that disagree with Google

If your markup says you close at 5 and your Google Business Profile says 6, an assistant has two answers and no way to pick. Change hours in both places, the same day.

  2. 02

    The generic type

LocalBusiness is valid, but Dentist, LegalService or HVACBusiness tells software what you do before it reads a word of your page.

  3. 03

    One block for many locations

Each location gets its own block, on its own page, with its own address and phone number.

  4. 04

    No links to your profiles

The sameAs list ties your website to your Google, Yelp and directory listings, so they are understood as one business rather than lookalikes.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

  • What is local business schema?

A short block of code, in a format called JSON-LD, that states your business facts in a way software reads without guessing: your name, type of business, address, phone, hours and the profiles that belong to you. It sits in your page's code and visitors never see it.

  • Does schema markup help with ChatGPT and other AI assistants?

It removes guesswork. Assistants answer from search indexes and the pages they fetch, and markup gives those systems your facts in one unambiguous place. It doesn't replace reviews, listings and pages that answer customer questions, but wrong hours or a missing address in your markup is an easy mistake to avoid.

  • Which fields does Google require?

Google's local business guide requires your name and address. It recommends a phone number, website, coordinates, opening hours and price range. This generator fills in whatever you enter and leaves empty fields out.

  • Where do I paste the code?

Into the <head> of your homepage, or the page for that location if you have several. WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow and Shopify all have a place for custom header code, and most SEO plugins have a schema field too. Then run Google's Rich Results Test on the live page.

  • Why isn't there a field for my star rating?

Google doesn't show review stars from markup a business writes about itself. Ratings belong on Google, Yelp and the directories in your industry, where AI assistants read them anyway.

  • Is this the same schema Vyzz sets up for clients?

It's the starting point. For clients, schema is part of every page rewrite we do, so service pages and FAQs get markup too, not just the homepage.
