AI search · Claude

Get your business recommended by Claude.

Claude searches the web before it recommends a business, and its searches don't run on Google. Here is where its answers come from and what you can do about it.

Where answers come from

What Claude reads before it names a business.

From Anthropic's own documentation wherever it exists. Sources at the bottom of the page.

The web

Anthropic lists Brave Search as the provider behind Claude's web search in its public list of subprocessors. Brave runs its own index, built separately from Google's and Bing's.

Local businesses

Claude's iPhone app can show places on a map and open them in Apple Maps. Anthropic doesn't say where that place data comes from, so there's no Claude-specific listing to claim.

Your website

Claude-SearchBot indexes pages for Claude's search results, Claude-User fetches a page when someone asks Claude to, and ClaudeBot collects training data. Anthropic says all three respect robots.txt.

What to do

How to get recommended by Claude.

You can do every step yourself. Or we do them for you, on all six assistants, every month.

  1. 01

    Allow Claude-SearchBot and Claude-User

Those two decide whether Claude can read your pages when it answers. ClaudeBot is training only; blocking it is your call.

  2. 02

Make sure Brave can find you

Search for your business and your key services on search.brave.com. If pages are missing there, Claude's searches are working without them.

  3. 03

Write the facts down on your site

What you do, where, for whom, at what price. Claude summarizes pages; it can't summarize what isn't written.

  4. 04

    Keep your listings consistent

Claude reads the same review sites and directories everyone else does. Name, address, phone and services should match everywhere.

We do all of this for you, on six AI assistants.

$399/mo billed annually or $499 month to month. No setup fee.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

  • Does Claude use Google?

Not for web search. Anthropic names Brave Search as its web search provider. That's why a business that ranks well on Google can still be missing from Claude's answers.

  • Can I keep my site out of Claude's training but still appear in its answers?

Yes. Block ClaudeBot and allow Claude-SearchBot and Claude-User. Anthropic treats them as separate crawlers with separate robots.txt rules.

  • Does Claude recommend local businesses?

Yes, when it searches the web. It names businesses it finds in search results and on the pages it reads, often with links, so the same groundwork applies: indexable pages, clear facts and good reviews.
